The Waterford Whiskey Society is delighted to announce that their ninth tasting for 2023 will take place at THE MUNSTER BAR in Waterford and via ZOOM on Tuesday the 26th of September at 7:30 pm.
This month we welcome Two Stacks Irish Whisky, and Killowen Distillery for a joint tasting. These are two of the front runners in the newest generation of whiskey distillers and bottlers, who in recent years have created some of the most interesting whiskies to hit the market.
The tasting will be led by Donal McLynn, or both and will be a great tasting as it will showcase some experimental whiskies from Two Stacks as well as some of the significant releases from Killowen.
The lineup of whiskies for this event will be as follows, and there will be 3 expressions from each brand.
Vintage Mash bill 9 - ex Sherry Hogshead (2 years 9 months) - ABV ~60
Two Stacks - Future Sounds Blend - 10YO Dingle 33% / 8YO Echlinville SPS 33% / 4YO Killowen SPS (Cask No.4) 33% - ABV 58%
Two Stacks - Heritage Mashbill (Ardara) 2023 (70% peated Malt / 30% Unmalted Donegal barely) - aged in blackstrap rum (~6 months) ~ABV 63%
